Pet rights in different countries

France is one of the most progressive countries when it comes to animal rights. Because in France you could go to jail for up to 5 years and pay a 75,000 Euro fine in the event of an animal's death caused by mistreatment.

Other countries have banned no pet bylaws which makes it easier to have a pet. These countries include Australia, Great Britain, Austria, New Zealand and Switzerland.
